The 250,000-square-foot Florida Aquarium is one of the top aquariums in the country, with over 20,000 sea creatures, including sharks, otters, alligators and many more. On this 30-minute simulated scuba diving expedition, learn to swim with the sharks at the Florida Aquarium.
During this introduction to scuba diving, visitors experience the thrill of underwater diving in a controlled environment from the surface of the sparkling, clear water. Just strap on a small scuba tank, a regulator and a floatation device (all provided) to stay on the surface of the water while enjoying all the sights a coral reef has to offer. The Coral Reef Gallery at the Florida Aquarium simulates an actual reef in the Dry Tortugas National Park near Key West, FL. This manmade reef is home to a wide variety of marine life like stingrays, lobsters, puffer fish, eels and tiger sharks. See them up close while friends and family watch from the outside on the exhibit’s pathway.
Participants must be at least nine years old and be comfortable in the water. Children who are under nine years old must have a paying in-water parent or guardian participating. This excursion can accommodate up to five swimmers at a time. No previous training or experience is necessary. All Florida Aquarium dive team members are professionally trained to supervise recreational diving activities.
