Siem Reap Street Food Evening Tour

My brother good with the last meal a food poisoning and it was not very pleasant...

The tour guide was fantasticthe best so far in my asia travels. I didnt get an in depth history lesson and tour of opera house like in Hong Kongwe spent a full three hours plus visiting various markets, eating a huge variety of food and had a wicked good time.

Kim was our guide, and he was FANTASTIC. We were picked up at our hotel by tuk tuk and driven to the local market to explore, learn and taste different local fruits and Cambodian cuisine. Kim was our perfect guide because he was kind and patient with my 10 year old, encouraging her to try new things, but he was not overwhelming and pushy when she was uncertain about some foods. We learned so much, had a wonderful time, and we will never forget this tour. We highly recommend this activity. Thank you, Kim, for making this experience a highlight of our trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed the street food evening tour with a group of four including the guide, Kim. The Khemer snacks varied from grilled fish and fresh fruits to fried crickets, scorpions and steamed snails. The dinner menu offered a variety of local Khemer dishes. We each picked a main dish and found the food to be scrumptious. Note - our tummies were fine the next day. Just take the usual precautions and bring wet wipes along and enjoy the food trail!

We were really looking forward to this tour as the final night of our mini Asia tour to celebrate my 50th birthday but unfortunately it was shockingly bad. Our tour guide Joseph if you do the tour keep your fingers crossed you dont get him had a very abrupt manner. It honestly felt like being on a school trip, he barked orders at us, barely gave us any facts about the city and instead spend about half an hour explaining how the locals buy their government owned properties. Two minutes on this subject would have sufficed. We were then taken to a Chines restaurant again the staff were rude and the place was soulless. Food and not good food was plonked down on the table with no explanation as to what it was. Our guide sat at a table by himself eating and didnt interact with anyone. The drinks were very overpriced. We then went on to the smoke and mirrors bar for the grand finale of a cocktail on the roof terrace only to find that there was a private function so we were literally dumped in a corner with not enough seats for all of us and no table. Quite frankly it was embarrassing and the singerpore sling can be purchased cheaper in any other bar or hotel in the city. Again our guide plonked himself away from the group and was more interested in his mobile phone. We ended up leaving early and getting a taxi back to our hotel, and when we told the guide we were leaving he just shrugged his shoulders and said the he was freelance and it was the companys problem not his. I dont like to leave a bad review and believe me Im not one to look for faults but this trip was absolutely awful and a total waste of money.

Thoroughly enjoyed this trip. The guide was hilarious. He took part in all the food tasting which encouraged us to do the same. The insects and other food except the fruit was cooked so give it a try.

Kim was our host and took care to make us feel comfortable with this experience. Never did we feel pressured although ALL of us were anxious! Amazingly we did manage to enjoy fire ants! And the cricket too were tasty!!!

This was so fun and like their motto says...Best day ever. We went to many local street food markets amd tried a varity of exotic foods...even scorpians and frogs, which I never dreamed I would eat. Ou guide Kim giftus ed a scarf to wear during the tour that doubled as a napkin and you definitely need it! We had so many, sometimes messy foods to try! We rode around in tuk tuks, which is a blast in itself and the drivers were great! We finished up the tour with a sit down dinner at a restaurant and shared beers and got to know our other tour members better. They were from all over the world. It was a very fun night and I highly recommend it to anyone!

Our guide was amazing! He took us to local markets only. We tried SO MUCH FOOD, including more ordinary things like fish and a dozen different tropical fruits we don't have back in the States and it got as crazy as several different types of critters- grasshopper, balut, scorpion, red ants, frog, etc. There was no pressure to try any of the food there were actually a few people on the tour who barely ate anything but I loved that we had the opportunity to try things we would never have eaten back home. By the time we got to the restaurant at the end of the tour, we were all already stuffed. So start the tour hungry.

This tour was amazing!
