Cambodian Village Cooking Class

Who knew I would have so much fun learning to cook like a Cambodian local? The tour began with a tuk tuk ride from my hotel to a beautiful hotel in what seemed like a remote village but in actuality was just outside Siem Reap. The backdrop for the cooking class was idyllic. We were surrounded by lush greenery including a lovely herb garden. Before we began cooking, our guide took us to the homestead of a local family just a short walk away where we were able to see a traditional Cambodian kitchen and ask questions of the host. When we returned to the outdoor kitchen, a chef was there to walk us through the preparation of a three-course Khmer meal. We made fish amok, mango salad and bananas with palm sugar and grated coconut. Boy was it delicious! This was such a fun excursion...worth every penny.

This was an awesome morning. Great kitchen to cook with and a knowledgable teacher. Interactive, Good quality of food produced and was great to eat it at the end.

The pick up service was not free. The driver who took me to the hotel required me to give some more tips. Except this one, everything was great.

Brilliant way to spend half a day. Great fun, great food even if i say so myself great value

This was an amazing experience, it was outside Siam Reap, in a village, lovely setting and as always in Cambodia, incredible people, more than happy to share their cooking skills. Definitely worth doing for the experience even, if like me, you are not a great cook.

Awesome. Nice, informative, great hostesses, good information and good explanations. We actually cooked some pretty nice food. Very professional and a MUST DO when going to Siem Reap. Well worth it and I couldn't fault it if I tried.

Loved it! The food was delicious and it was so much fun! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I couldn't believe I had made this food. Highly recommend - it is a great break from temple visiting!

This was an amazing class! We were pick up on time by tuk-tuk. We were then transported a little bit out of town to the location for the cooking class. It was such a clean, well organized experience! The teachers were English speaking and gave directions a few steps at a time so as not to overwhelm or leave anyone behind--even my two school-age kids were able to keep up! The food we made was delicious and will be easy to replicate at home. I would absolutely recommend this class again! Great job!
