Overview

Get an easy intro to glacier walking and ice climbing during this 11-hour tour from Reykjavik. With a small group of 15 people or fewer and a capable outdoors guide, visit two famous area waterfalls and try your hand at some arctic sports. Round-trip hotel transportation included.
  • 11-hour tour of southern Iceland including a glacier walk and ice climbing intro
  • Walk through the landscape of Sólheimajökull glacier
  • Give ice climbing a shot with an intro lesson
  • Visit Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off in Reykjavik
  • Small group of 15 people or fewer
Begin your adventure on Iceland's south shore with convenient pickup at your Reykjavik hotel between 8:30am and 9am. Climb into a rugged tour vehicle with your outdoors guide and small group of 15 travelers or fewer.

Set out for Sólheimajökull glacier, enjoying the scenery and listening to narration from your guide on the way. Once you arrive, embark on a glacier walk, stopping at both the Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. Other sights on the glacier walk include deep crevasses, ridges, and water cauldrons.

Once the group finds a suitable spot for some introductory ice climbing, you'll get a primer from your guide and rig up the climbing gear. Gather up your courage and give it a shot; make sure your friends and family snap some photos of you hanging off the side of a glacier by your crampons.

At the end of your 11-hour day of adventure, return to your Reykjavik hotel for drop-off.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!! We were the only one's on the tour that day so it ended up being a private tour. Matt was awesome! Super patient and very informative. The views are stunning. This tour is a must if you come to Reykjavik. Ice climbing was one of the best things ive ever done. Highly recommend.

The tour was amazing! 5+star! It made our Iceland trip worthwhile. We loved our tour guide (Margaret). So helpful and knew a lot of interesting history. Definitely better and much more intimate than the bigger tour companies such as Grayline and Reykjavik Excursions!

The friendly and knowledgeable guides made this trip most enjoyable. As novices to glaciers and ice climbing I may have been a little apprehensive about this experience. However, our small group was very well looked after and the experience was exciting, memorable and safe.

This tour was the highlight of my time in Iceland. Ice climbing was awesome and there were plenty of beautiful views throughout the south coast. Would highly recommend this tour.

This was a perfect day!! Everything was as we hoped it would be. The weather, the tour guides and the experience, it was just a perfect day! First we had a small hike into the glacier, and after 10 min. we started ice climbing. they had one for beginners and one for experts. This was a good option because we've had the both of them in our group. After the climb we proceeded our hike, and what we saw on the end was just speechless. A perfect view and a big smile on our faces. Special thanks to our guides this day!!
