Julianna was our point person. She picked us up as scheduled. She brought us to the port where she handed us to one of the porters who led us to the boat tour. The tour was so-so. Brought us to one of the Uros Floating island. Once on the island, we learned a brief history of Lake Titicaca and how the floating island came about. The families in the island was friendly and very enthusiastic to showing us their handcrafted souvenirs. Be cautious because they will pressure you to buy their crafts. Mind you, this is their livelihood now that Puno has started to become a tourist attraction. You'd be in the island about 20 minutes before sending you back to the port.

The tour stated pick up to and from the hotel is included but she mentioned, on the way to the port, that once we come back from the boat tour, she's only able to take us to the central market part of Puno and that We have to find our own way back to the hotel. We ended up eating dinner at the market before headed back to our hotel.

FYI: We rode a taxi from Julliaca nearest airport to Libertador Puno Hotel for sol/ 80. On the way to the port, she has offered a taxi ride back to the airport for sol/ 60. We made sure if it was a private taxi and she said yes.
The next day, she picked us up from the hotel with the taxi but brought us to the tour center/store where we were dropped off to be picked up by a minivan with 15 other people. We know the minivan was sol/15 per person so we know we got jipped. We did not want to make it a big deal since finding another way back to the airport will be added stress.
Now you're asking, what does this info have to do with the tour, WELL this is the same lady juliana who might jip you and even though the trip ended up cheaper, it's still more expensive given the fact that it's via a minivan. It's the principle of it and there are a lot of tours we could have chosen and a lot of competition for your business so be cautious when choosing this one.

BTW, taxi around Puno cost only around sol/ 10 per trip. If you stop by the port, there are a LOT of people fighting for your business. The tour is around sol/ 30 give or take sol/ 10 so for around sol/ 50, you'd get the same treatment doing it yourself.

For 40/person, It could have been better.

On-time pick up from hotel in Puno and smooth boarding onto boat. The Uros people gave an interesting presentation on how they lay the reeds on the islands. The guide translated to English. The families on the islands are friendly and keen to show their homes and handicrafts. There is pressure to buy handicrafts quite expensive and the ride on the matrimonial boat is extra cost but compulsory! The young women sang songs as we left. There is plenty of time to wander around and see the buildings, cooking arrangements, fish pond where fresh fish are kept until needed for food. I certainly recommend this tour - these floating islands are fascinating and unique.
