Make your way to a central location, then follow a local guide on a “best of” route through Old City, starting with the Betsy Ross House, where you’ll hear about the origins of the American flag.
Weave through Old City’s charming back alleys, take in America’s oldest, continually-operated residential street, and soak up the trendy atmosphere in the vibrant neighborhood. Pass by Ben Franklin’s house on your way through Philly’s Historic District, with views of Independence Mall, the National Constitution Center, and the U.S. Mint.
Continue across the Mall to the President’s House Site, where both Washington and Adams lived when they were Presidents of the United States, then pass the site of the Liberty Bell (with the possibility to duck inside for a photo stop).
When it’s time for happy hour, hop a train into modern Philadelphia to visit a few bars for beers, choosing from the oldest continually operating bar in Philly, a classic dive, an Irish pub, and a modern beer café. This tour concludes after drinks, in Center City Philly.
