Itinerary
Leaving central London, you travel through Wessex, one of England’s ancient kingdoms.
You pass through this millennia-old setting on the way to the historic city of Winchester. The former capital of Anglo-Saxon England is synonymous with Alfred the Great and boasts a magnificent cathedral and the Norman Great Hall. You'll have time to grab lunch and explore the fascinating old town.
From this bustling city, you head to a quieter but equally profound place: the standing stone circles of Stonehenge. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Stonehenge site has been skilfully preserved.
At the award-winning visitor centre, you can view the exhibition of hundreds of prehistoric items from the Stonehenge collection. By joining the land train shuttle, you make your way to the world-famous stone circles.
You then travel to Exeter, an important fortified settlement in Roman times and your base for two nights.
Day 2:After breakfast (included), your guide will take you to Dartmoor, a place of myths and legends that has inspired some of the world’s most famous mystery writers, Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. You'll have enough free time to have lunch (at own expense).
Then visit the hamlet of Postbridge, best known for its ancient clapper bridge. Continue to Tavistock, the lovely hometown of Sir Francis Drake, before heading back to Exeter in the early afternoon to explore the town on your own and have dinner (at own expense). Visit the amazing Norman Cathedral, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and the University of Exeter.
Day 3:
Day 3 is Cornwall day! After breakfast (included), leave Devon behind and make your way to Cornwall, one of England’s most picturesque regions, full of rocky cliffs, white sandy beaches, mystic moors and lovely woodlands. Visit the civil parish of Launceston, Cornwall's ancient capital, and the nearby Bodmin moor, where your guide will tell you about its mysterious legends.
Throughout the day, see attractions like Golitha Falls, the small St Neats church and Tintagel Castle, the birthplace of the legendary King Arthur, and have enough free time for lunch (at own expense).
End your day in Falmouth, your home base for the next two nights. Your guide will recommend you the best local restaurants, where you can enjoy your dinner (at own expense).
Day 4:
After breakfast (included), visit the island of St Michaels Mount and the Minack Theatre, which is built dramatically into the cliffs. See the beautiful beaches of Porthcurno and possibly even a pirate of Penzance. You'll have enough free time to grab lunch (at own expense).
Move on to the dramatic coast of Land's End and watch the surfers in St Ives before returning to Falmouth for the evening, where you have dinner (at own expense).
Day 5:
After breakfast (included), spend your last day at the exploring Glastonbury and discover its ancient connections to King Arthur.
You'll have lunch there (at own expense), and return to London in the evening.

Before booking this trip I did a lot of research on which Cornwall tour would hit most of the places I wanted to see. Not only did this tour meet my expectations but it exceeded them. I can't believe how many great places and things we saw. In addition, our driver Kevin was superb. I felt completely safe on the tiny roads as he was a careful driver. And a great guide. Both informative and humorous at the same time. If you have only 5 days and want to see this area of England, book with Rabbie's.
My wife and I just returned from a terrific tour of Devon and Cornwall. Our guide (Lord Kevin) was very knowledgeable and fun. He had lots of information about the area some factual and some legion, but all worth learning about. We particularly likes the personal touch of the tour. If we had a special request, Kevin would do his best to provide the opportunity. We also liked the flexibility of the itinerary. At any stop we would be given a number of options to pursue on our own or as a group, so we weren’t tied to a particular schedule other than when to get back on the bus. This tour is a great introduction to Devon and Cornwall. We hope to return for a longer stay.
The trip was fantastic! We love every minute of it. Our driver/guide Dean was amazing. He gave us all kinds of information about the country, the local site and folklore. He was very considerate of our needs: driving us as close as possible to the sites, picking us up in the same spot that we were dropped off, reminding us of how much time would could spend and what we would be seeing and doing next. Dean was always ready to answer questions and was great at letting us know where we could get the best food at reasonable prices. The trip itself was wonderful. We loved the pastoral scenery and visiting such places as Stonehenge and Doc Martin's village. I would definitely recommend this trip and this particular tour guide.
This is the second time we've done this tour--this time with friends--and it was every bit as good or better than the first time. We were able to do different things at the same stops which expanded our experience. Our guide, June, was wonderful! She was very informative and surprised us with a stop at Port Issac, which we didn't do the first time. Our van mates were all compatible and we left each other as friends at the end of the tour. I can't recommend this tour enough for a good taste of Devon and Cornwall.
This tour is delivered by Rabbies. Great experience in this whistle stop tour. HIghlights for me were the Minack Theatre in Porthcurno, and St. Ives. Wish I could have spent more time in Falmouth. A great introduction to the southwest of England. Excellent driver, commentary, and coach. Pack light, though. It helps getting around!
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide Hugh from Rabbie's was excellent. He was great about providing the history, enthusiastic about the stories he told, and seemed to care a lot about making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. The timing of this tour in October was also perfect. We had such nice weather and the places we visited were not very busy at least compared to summer. I certainly recommend, this tour, Rabbie's, and Hugh.
Very well planned and organized trip! Tony, our driver / tour guide, was a wealth of information, stories, personality and could even navigate the 2-lane country roads without incident -- my hats off to you! This trip was wonderful! We pack a lot of territory into five days and our very skilled driver, Geoff /Jeff, made it interesting and fun, and taught us so much history. While it was basically a taste of Devon and Cornwall I'm not sure I would have been able to see this part of England any other way so a little bit was so much better than nothing. We stayed in hotels and our accommodations were good. I would absolutely do a longer trip just like this.
Fantastic tour Rabbies UK thanks to Hugh our driver and guide. Small group of 14 with 3 solo travellers which I was one. I chose B and B which was comfortable and well located. Hugh was excellent so knowledgeable we all had a great fun holiday thanks to him, with a great group as well, made friends for life
