Glencoe Mountains, Scotland

Meet your guide bright and early in central Glasgow for your full-day tour. Grab a comfortable seat in the luxury coach for the northbound ride toward the Glencoe, a glen of breathtaking beauty that boasts high mountain peaks, ridges, bubbling rivers and waterfalls. Along the way, you’ll pass the ‘bonnie, bonnie’ banks of Loch Lomond for some stunning views of Scotland’s largest loch.

In Glencoe, enjoy a scenic stroll to stretch your legs, and learn about the historic MacDonald clan that resided here and suffered in the brutal massacre of 1692. Afterward, hop back in the coach for to continue your journey through Great Glen and past Fort William, a key military post during the 18th-century Jacobite Rebellions.

Sidle up to the banks of Loch Ness, where the tour will break for some free time. Explore Fort Augustus, grab some lunch or take an hour-long cruise on the loch for a chance spotting of the famous Loch Ness monster (all activities at own expense).

After your lunch-time break, continue back toward Inverness and wind through Cairngorms National Park. Catch lovely views of peaks and waterfalls, and hear about the series Monarch of the Glen that was filmed here. You’ll head over Drummochter Summit and soon arrive at the charming Victorian town of Pitlochry, where you’ll have free time to explore before heading to Perthshire.

From here, begin you return trip to Glasgow, passing Stirling Castle on the way. Snap some photos of the historic site — former residence of Scottish royals including Mary, Queen of Scots — and learn about its colorful history, riddled with warfare such as the Battle of Stirling Bridge led by William Wallace.

This trip was WONDERFUL!! My friend and I absolutely loved it! It didn't seem as long of a day as it should have. Our driver, Alistair, was informative, funny, and answered all of my silly questions. We were really happy with the trip overall, and it was definitely worth the price!

Our tour guide Grant really made the tour. He provided colorful commentary and historical tidbits along the way which made the long ride quite enjoyable. Loch Ness and Glencoe were the unrivaled attractions. Quite impressive. The added bonuses were the stops that Grant made along the way. Periodic rest breaks in lovely little towns. Highly recommend this tour.

This tour was incredible. Our driver/tour guide was safe and informative. He played fun music the entire trip and was patient with us during stops to take pictures. The small group van was great - as opposed to a larger bus. I enjoyed the boat ride on the water. Highly recommend!

This was a great all-day trip to the northern Scottish Highlands, Glencoe and Lock Ness. The meeting area is simply at an address in the city center. The 16-passenger bus is comfy but not too roomy like most things in the UK :- Our driver was very informative, talkative and willing to ask any and all questions. The trip was smooth and free of problems. The great thing about these guided trips is not having to drive and being able to stay focused on the sights out the huge windows or simply taking a nap on the long trip back to the city. This, and another trip a week earlier, will account for most of our photo memories from this trip!

Wonderful experience with Graham! He was highly professional and so very knowledgeable! The weather was dreadful, but we had a great time and learned a lot! We had an emergency situation during our trip that was handled so well! As the snow came pouring down, a large bird crashed into the window of the bus, shattering the windshield. Graham was very calm and carefully pulled over to the side of the road. Because it was not safe to continue our journey, the company tried to send a replacement van. Due to timing and the lateness of the day, they were unable to get a van out to us in a reasonable amount of time, they instead sent taxis to take all the passengers back to Glasgow.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting a flavor of these areas and getting big bang for their buck, so to speak. We saw a lot and learned a lot in a short amount of time. The bus was very comfortable and the group size very manageable.
Again, highly recommend!

What a wonderful tour! Our tour guide, Graham, was incredibly sweet, funny, and so knowledgeable. He could answer all of our questions! The van is comfortable, but take note that a large portion of the trip is driving in the van. However, the views are incredible, and Graham kept us entertained with stories, history, and music. The stops we made along the way were breathtaking.
