Genoa Shore Excursion: Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure Day Trip

Begin your day along the Italian Riviera with pickup from your cruise port in Genoa. Meet your private driver and journey first to Portofino by comfortable coach.

See the pastel hues of the waterfront buildings as you enter the popular resort spot. Head to the central Piazzetta, and take in the turquoise waters of the harbor, bustling with boats of every shape and size.

Part ways with your driver and enjoy some free time to explore, stopping at the Castello Brown, dating back to the 16th century, or at the Church of St George, home to the sacred relics of Portofino's patron saint. Discover the old castle and the baroque Church of San Giorgio and take in unbeatable views of the Mediterranean coastline.

If you’re looking to check out some Italian fashion, peruse the local boutiques brimming with clothing and jewelry. Consider relaxing with some lunch at a café before reuniting with your driver.

Then, relax with a smooth ride to Santa Margherita Ligure. Nestled between Rapallo and Portofino, see how this ancient fishing village has maintained its old-world charm. Stroll past the fishermen’s houses and admire the landscape of the Ligurian coast.

After your day out on the Riviera, conclude with transportation back to the Genoa port.

Portifino is right out of the movies. I've traveled quite a bit and it's one of the most beautiful places I've seen. So small yet
packed with such beauty. Francisco was a great guide and flexible to make our day exactly whatever we wanted to do.
Santa Margherita was nice but a bit more touristy but definitly worth a look. The Church on the hill is worth the hike up the
hill. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

We had a wonderful day with our guide. Picked up on time from our cruise ship and spent time in Portofino, walked the Red Carpet to Santa Margherita Ligure and had lunch. So much fun!

Excellent driver, prompt and polite. He knew very much of the history and great places to stop along the way.

While this tour is still worth it, we would have hoped for a better guide. He was friendly enough, but just kind of dumped us in the locales without giving much history or commentary about the areas. It was a wonderful day spent, but could have been better. It was more like a transport than a guide...
