Excellent. We arrived from USA that morning. Cab from hotel to meeting point. Great way to see off main street sites - and have some great Tapas tasting along the way. Our guide Javier Rocafort was outstanding., Highly recommend.
Great tour to two exceptional restaurants. Javier was very mindful of my wifes infirmity and didnt rush us at all. He introduced us to Barcelona as we walked and explained in as much detail as we wished the dining scene in the city. The first restaurant only opened as we arrived but was soon able to produce 4 tapas dishes of very good quality. By the time we arrived at the second restaurant it was buzzing with lunchtime trade. Another 4 exceptional tapas dishes. Our recommendation - Go Hungry. Many thanks Javier - we recommend your tour without hesitation. Colin and Margaret
If you love good food this is the tour to take!!!!Javiar is amazing and very knowledgeable. He is able to take you to the restaurants and arrange the tastings and you feel as if you are meeting up with an old friend who knows the best food in town. An extra bonus as we walked in the Gothic Quarter was him taking us through the church of St Maria del Mar as we had not been yet.It was a thoughtful touch which we appreciated. I would do this again. The foodie in you will thank you. He does give you a list of recommended places to avoid the tourist traps of Barcelona so I suggest doing this early on in your trip as it sets you up to enjoy the food scene in Barcelona nicely.
Javier was an excellent host for our tour. The pace was great, we visited two excellent tapas restaurants and got a guided walking tour to boot. Javier is well informed on both food and wines of Barcelona, Catalonia and Spain. Would do it again
We loved this food tour. We and #39;ve taken many and this was one of our favorites. Xavier took us to two tapas places where we had delicious, interesting, local foods. He also recommended other places to try. We had an octopus dish that was fantastic.
This was a really great tour. I did it in summer 2016 July from the Norwegian Cruise boat that docks in Barcelona. Our guide, Javier, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He really knows his food, He has university degrees in the hospitality area. He would be an asset to any city he lived in. Here in Barcelona he was particularly interested in introducing us to local flavors, particularly Catalonian style tapas. It was worth every penny to have someone who had previously scouted out the best tapas places, and who could line up different flavors. We got to taste things that I otherwise would have had to scour all over the city for or spend a month in Barcelona to find. I had already done enough research for the cruise I was so glad to find a knowledgeable person!
Besides getting 3 or 4 hours of great tourist information from Javier, because we were with him the tapas restaurant owners would give us little extra plates to try for free!. Javier was also extremely knowledgeable about Spanish wines which are outstanding. He recommended dishes that might not have looked like much at first, but because they were made with the freshest oils and local ingredients, were unbelievably good. Not a dud in anything we tried, each a unique flavor. Javier cared deeply about giving us a good experience. He also asked use the sort of things we'd like to try or might not like and accommodated our needs e.g., if there are some fish you don't like for instance. I would do this tour again, and I would especially look up Javier. Great to do too if staying overnight in Barcelona. Lots of wine.
Even though the food on the cruise boat was good, it was still worthwhile doing this tour because the flavors of Spain are so unique. It was just wonderful walking down La Rambla tasting on a beautiful day with great food, great wine and great people. There are not many places in the world you can do that. A memory I will cherish the rest of my life.
We loved this tour because it was possible to enjoy a good experience about the Catalunia cuisine. Javier was great and demonstrated a high knowledge about the food and about the places he took us to know. We had lunch in excellent restaurants and he also gave us many tips about other places to enjoy by ourselves! We highly recommend this tour in Barcelona!
Javier was a well educated young man with perfect English and a real sense of reading us to know interesting things to show us. You can tell his private tours are designed with the customer in mind. He was constantly asking more about us to tailor our experience as we walked. His selections of restaurants were equally well thought. This tour was an education and a bargain.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys good food and wine. My guide was extremely knowledgeable about the food, wine and city. This tour was one of my favorite parts of my trip and I didn't want it to end! This is a must do for any foodie visiting Barcelona. I had some of the most amazing tastings I have ever had. Everything was excellent in the locations we went to. The service, food and wine was unforgettable. My guide went above and beyond my expectations and taught me about the food and culture. He is also a wine expert and perfectly paired the food with the drink. I will be doing this tour again and recommending it to everyone I know.
Tour was very good. Guide was very knowledgeable and conducted tour at nice easy pace. Visited 2 Tapas restaurants, one good, the other great. Wines were very good.
