We will begin our one day trip in Armenia by visiting the Azhdahak Mountain. This is an extinct volcano in Armenia and the highest peak of the Geghama mountains range. It has an elevation of 3,597 metres above sea level. Azhdahak Mountain is a favourite destination of all who love trekking in Armenia. Those who hike to the crater of the mountain will be amazed to find an impressive small lake formed of melting snow.
Hiking Azhdahak, you will discover that the view of Azhdahak Crater Lake is constantly changing depending on a variety of factors. These include the amount of sunlight, the presence of clouds, the time of the day, the season, and the strength and direction of the wind. The water in the lake is so pure and clear that the bottom of the crater is always visible.
