Top Beaches in Grand Turk

134 reviews
Grand Turk is celebrated for its uninterrupted miles of white sand beaches and calm turquoise waters—a paradise for swimming, water sports, kayaking, and scuba diving. See below for the best beaches on the capital island of the Turks and Caicos.

Gibbs Cay Island
Gibbs Cay, nicknamed Stingray City, sits just off the eastern coast of Grand Turk and is a popular day trip for beachgoers and snorkelers, who come to swim with stingrays in the crystal-clear water.

Governor’s Beach
Located between Cockburn Town and the Cruise Center, Governor’s Beach ranks as one of the best on Grand Turk, though it does tend to attract crowds of cruise ship passengers. Shallow water and peach-hued sand make it a popular swimming beach.

Pillory Beach
Situated just north of Cockburn Town, this quiet, sheltered stretch of soft white sand offers a less visited alternative to Governor’s Beach. The beach is part of Columbus Landfall National Park, thus named because some experts believe Christopher Columbus actually landed on Grand Turk rather than San Salvador in the Bahamas.

White Sands Beach
While not an ideal beach for swimming due to large amounts of seaweed in the water, White Sands Beach offers a sense of seclusion that can be lacking on beaches closer to the Grand Turk Cruise Center.
