Sandwich Glass Museum Tours
A fascinating tribute to Sandwich’s long history of glass-making, the Sandwich Glass Museum is dedicated to preserving the art of glass-blowing, pressing and cutting, as well as chronicling the rise of the town’s acclaimed 19th-century glass industry.
More than 6,000 glass items are on display in the museum, many of them produced by the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company, and including both historic and modern items. Visitors can admire finely crafted lamps, candlesticks and vases, as well as exquisite perfume bottles, tableware and trinkets, and some rare glass sculptures, while original and replica items are for sale in the on-site gift shop. Most intriguing is the opportunity to watch live glass-blowing demonstrations and discover the process of glass manufacture from start to finish.
